|Sunday School||9:00 AM|
|Sunday Worship||10:30 AM|
The resurrection of our Lord Jesus is celebrated each Sunday as we gather in public worship. Our time in worship is central in defining who we are as God's people. Through most of the year services are held upstairs in the sanctuary. During the summer months worship services are held in the fellowship hall. Both are wheelchair accessible.
ORDER OF WORSHIP
Many of us are unfamiliar with the use of a structured liturgy (order) in worship. The word liturgy means "the work of the people. It points us to worship as an act rather than as an experience. The experience comes as a result of the act; for we have come to do something (worship) and the blessings we receive are in response to what we have given.
Preaching is the authoritative proclamation of God's Word contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. The authority of preaching is not inherent in the preacher but rather his office and the text he proclaims. The goal is to live out our faith and apply the gospel to various areas of our lives, not merely to gain information. We strive that all of our teaching ministries combine intellectual depth with intense practicality, so that the deepest questions and issues of life are answered with honesty and with the fullness of the historic Christian message.
We believe that children can truly know God, and should be encouraged at a young age to worship with the rest of the community. Although they may not be able to understand or participate in every aspect of the service, they often absorb more than we give them credit for. However, we recognize that many parents of children and toddlers prefer to have childcare assistance during worship.
Childcare is available for children 4 and under.
All Children are invited forward for a special message during the service. Afterward, children through grade 2 may attend jr. church for the remainder of worship. Though we offer these separate environments, we encourage families to worship together for our main service.
Jr. Church (ages 4-2nd grade) is an interactive program focused on teaching biblical truths through age appropriate activities. Following the children's message during the main worship service, the young people are dismissed for jr. church and parents are to pick up their children at the end of the service.
