Serve The Community

The Forks Church seeks to advance the Gospel of Christ in the world not only in Word (preaching, mission, and evangelism) but in Deed (service and good works). The congregation seeks to minister to the surrounding community in practical ways. The following list of ministries and organizations describes some of the ways that the Forks Church members and participants are being equipped and mobilized to serve our community, state, and nation.

GOOD WORKS
The Mission of Good Works is to extend the love of Jesus Christ to low-income homeowners by making their homes warmer, safer and drier. Founded in 1988, Good Works, Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit, based in Coatesville, West Chester, and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. It is the only nonprofit in Chester County whose sole focus is to utilize volunteers to perform extensive repairs to substandard homes at no cost to the homeowners in those areas. The Forks Church participates in Good Works each month (Saturdays) and encourages people to join the team in helping homeowners in need.

DEACONS MINISTRY
Patterned after Scripture, the deacons at the Forks Church exist not only to care for the people within the congregation but to bring the love of Christ in real ways to people around the community. As an ordained office, the deacons are elected by the members of the congregation and meet monthly to pray, consider needs, and distribute financial, physical, and spiritual aid to many in need.

SENSORY PLAY DAY
The sensory play day is a ministry to children with special needs. The purpose of this ministry is to offer kids with sensory needs and their siblings, multiple sensory based activities in a peaceful spacious outdoor environment where parents can feel supported and understood, relax, enjoy themselves and socialize with other parents.
